Driver charged with reckless homicide in DeKalb crash

 

A man from Maple Park is now facing charges including reckless homicide, for a collision in January which left a woman dead.

48-year-old Kevin Taylor has been charged in connection with the death of Rachel Jimenez; she was driving north on Peace Road around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24th when she was reportedly hit by Taylor’s vehicle.

The DeKalb Police Department says Taylor was going south on Peace when he lost control after crossing the intersection with Pleasant Street; Jimenez had her 13-year-old son on board with her.

All three were taken from Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital to Rockford hospitals for further treatment; Jimenez died one week later.

Taylor is also charged with aggravated reckless driving, reckless driving and speeding more than 35 miles per hour over the limit.
